[EDIT TWO} Seems someone there saw this review...didn't want to do the right thing and instead chose to send me rude "compliments" to show their displeasure at having their bad food and charging viewable for everyone. [EDIT] Just checked our online statement and noticed that for some reason, the 6 dollar oysters ended up being charged at 10.50! No idea how they charged more for them then is on their menu or their door sign. Pros: It was an ok looking place. And a dozen raw oysters for 6 bucks seemed really nice. Cons: Hardly any beer selection. I think it must be more of a cocktail place, but if you serve oysters, you really need some good beer. Not a single Abita variety. The second part worried me a little at the time and then worried me a lot once I got home and looked it up. The oysters had a sulfurous smell and taste. They tasted a bit off and a little chewy. Almost like they got the oysters from a container and placed them in the shells that were reused or something. This was especially worrisome because you only get a sulfurous smell when the oysters have been dead for a bit. Maybe the sushi offerings are better.

Not once but twice in a row placed an order to go only to get there and be told by a rude young man that my order was not placed because "they got busy!" Don't tell me come to pick up in 25 minutes only to hear that when you get there! Will never step foot in there again and glad to pass these experiences to others.

Located in the heart of New Iberia, this neon-lit spot has a decent variety of food. You've got your asian cuisine such sweet chicken, dumplings, fried rice, sushi. You also have local specialties such as oysters. I have had a good experience at Bojangles every time I have made the trip, despite the fact that they did not have my desired menu item on different occasions. It is a good location for groups and the noise level is far from unbearable. Bojangles may not provide you with the best meal you've ever eaten, but I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Best lunch specials ever! Can't eat it all. Bojangles shrimp is amazing and the sushi is great! Staff is great and accommodating with take out orders.

Driving through the area and stopped for lunch with a coworker. The place is small and dark but it has some nice brick walls and wooden planked ceiling that adds some sort of charm and adds an industrial feel. The service is subpar. The food was ok. Presentation of the sushi was amazing. They drew some coy fish in water out of a sauce on the plate (see picture). All in all it was pretty good. Not the best and certainly not the worst.

Please, please believe me when I warn you to stay away from this place. ITS THAT BAD!! Upon entering this establishment, it was really dark and there are neon lights everywhere, there was dampness in the air and also a really foul odor.. I should have trusted my instincts and stayed away.. The service sucks, let me rephrase that, the service is HORRIBLE. There were a table that was seated about 10 minutes after us, their table got served and finished before we even got to put in our order.. Our waiter, who was also the host, was very slow and I felt like he did not want to be there.. he didn't even get our drinks or order until I actually came up to him and told him (at this point I was already upset.. I was crunching for time, and time was already wasted so I decided to ask him to be quick so I can head back).. thankfully he finally put in the order and I got it quick.. but the food SUCKED.. we had the following: - Baked Salmon - snow crab wrapped w/ salmon baked w/ spicy mayo, served with eel sauce - bland and was not put together well, it fell apart once you touched it - Bonjangles Roll - no rice, tuna, salmon, snow crab, cream cheese, avocado, fried, topped with eel sauce & spicy mayo - mediocre and drenched in sauce - Super Crunchy Roll - snow crab, extra crunchy w/ spicy mayo and eel sauce - very one dimensional and very bland - Tiger Eye Roll - tempura salmon, snow crab, cream cheese, & avocado w/ spicy mayo - mediocre and drenched in mayo - Lil Jen Roll - soy paper, cucumber, fried shrimp, salmon, & masago, baked w/ spicy mayo and served with eel sauce - mediocre - Hamachi - looked very unappetizing and very old looking.. the product was still very frozen, and did not look pleasing at all.. I was very afraid to eat this and be sick, so I actually did not touch the plate at all I will never come back to this establishment again.. I understand if it was busy and I couldn't be served quickly, but there was not much people there, and since the food isn't good, I won't come back.

Great time with great friends. Happy hour specials were great. Enjoyed the ambiance. Four stars because service could have been more prompt. Will go back and try some Sushi. Menu was enticing.

Glad I ate here before reading the reviews. The Bonangles shrimp was a great appetizer. The service was a little slower than most places, but the rolls were great. I also ordered the tiger eye roll. Will come back if in the area.

Stopped in here despite the negative reviews, and had a fine dinner. The restaurant is in an old historic building, and the dark interior with neon works well with the exposed brick and ductwork. I've seen similar sushi bar decors in old-town sections of other cities. The service was excellent - prompt and friendly. My wife and I ordered the "Tri-color" platter - tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi with a tekka maki cut roll - and it was good. The fish wasn't of the knock-your-socks-off sort that I've had in certain sushi bars in Los Angeles, but it was fresh and flavorful, without any sense of being too-recently-thawed. And then there's this. You're in New Iberia to see Avery Island, and you're looking for something better than the generic Ruby Tuesdays next to your hotel? Bojangles is in the old picturesque part of town, and a far better choice.

Food was okay I have eaten here four times. The apps r good and some of the rolls. Now the service today was horrible. I will give it 2 stars on today's service. We ordered apps came out good. Had to redo one app bc it came out wrong. The main dish had to be sent back twice for me and three times for a friend. Who had to get up and get her own food as she was walking back from the front. Had to go request service from hostess station. It was not packed 4 tables only. Our table did not get bussed as we ate. I had stacked my cups up and we had to request refills multiple times because our waiter forgot. I asked to speak to the manager and asked for a compensation of a discount due to horrible service , he denied us and stated he does not compensate for mistakes. I then replied I will not be back and two other guests stated the same thing.

Dear Mr. Bojangles, I have driven and even walked past your front door a dozen times and only 55 minutes ago did I have the urge to see what's behind the black-painted windows and doors that could be so scary as to require that treatment, normally reserved for less reputable establishments. I was ready for anything. Lose the black paint and the name because what's behind the door is very much a relaxing and friendly sushi bar. No naked chicks. No dancer in worn out shoes. Dining alone, I was able to eat, drink and observe. Others have complained about service. I was greeted by a gen y male slacker and not impressed. A gen y female spoke up that she for the next table so that's where I was escorted. My only service complaint is that my main arrived not long after my starter. Way too soon, in fact. Otherwise, service was great. I observed an interesting non-exchange between the Asian owner and said slacker. Slacker, hunched at reception pounding his stupid phone as owner walks behind counter to check 'something', it wasn't apparent. They ignored each other. Then the owner walked away. Mr. Bojangles, you have a culture issue to deal with before your food can even be tasted. Lose the black paint. Lose the neon. Lose the slackers.

It's just OK. The quality has gone down over the years. Would not really recommend this place to many people at all.
